This season sees a number of big international names expanding their empires into new territories, both real and virtual.
Vintage is back
Ossie Clark London, championed in the 60s and 70s by such style icons as Twiggy and Elizabeth Taylor, is set to be re-launched in selected Debenhams stores across the UK next year. The new collection for spring 2013 will hit stores in February and promises classic Ossie Clark style with a modern remix.
The heat is on in Hong Kong
To the delight of brides-to-be, Vera Wang finally opened a new flagship store in HK last month. In the centre of town, the collection of distinctive bridal and stunning evening gowns is housed over four storeys in a chic shophouse.
Hot on the heels of the largest ever Burberry Flagship store opening in Regent Street, London, this September, the brand has trumped itself with an even bigger store in Asia. The brand has, this month, made its way to Pacific Place Mall in Hong Kong; the store is spread over 2000m sq and houses the brand new watch collection. These large stores are tipped as the future for the brand.
MacArthurGlen’s newest arrivals
Cheshire Oaks near Chester, the largest designer outlet in Britain, welcomes a couple of new kids on the block that will join over seventy other high-end and high street labels. Edgy fashion brand Motel, as seen on ASOS, has opened its first outlet concession. The new store offers Motel’s signature style, as loved by celebrities, including Rita Ora, at 70 per cent discount.
Despite having stores all over the world, Lulu Guinness, goddess of handbags and luggage, has never ventured out of London within the UK. A new store opening in Chesire Oaks will mark their first move into outlet retail and will be a popular move among fans of the brand.
