Kim Jones graduated from Central St Martins College of Art and Design with an MA in Menswear. A three-times winner of the British Fashion Council’s Menswear Designer of the Year award, he is a quality British export to the iconic Parisian fashion house Louis Vuitton (LV).
The designation ‘style director’ can only hint at his creative innovations, which go a long way in contributing to the much-needed expansion to the contents of the contemporary man’s wardrobe.
Explore in style
Kim’s 2012 autumn/winter showcase displayed his hard work to perfection. Double-breasted overcoats reminiscent of the 70s and waxed cotton clothing with safari and country retreat elements were key pieces in this collection. Prevailing LV Steamer bags were given a makeover in Epi leather and crocodile trim, making them well suited to the gent who loves to travel in style.
Looking ahead
The designer’s spring/summer 2013 collection featured a nautical theme. A luxurious lifestyle full of glamorous travel to exotic destinations was portrayed brilliantly, with sporty lines in the form of skin-moulding scuba two-piece swimsuits, crisp white deck shoes, and expertly cut wool mohair blazers with wooden buttons.
